A female hummingbird (Calypte anna) spotted in the beautiful gardens of the Huntington Library in Pasadena.
I think I caught the same hummingbird! But your pic is so much better! What was your frame speed?
Glad you like it! Shutter speed was 1/500th second. I probably should've used something like 1/2000 to freeze the wings as well

Quite a marvellous shot. Colours are beautiful, and it's amazing the way you caught the bird keeping him and the flower in focus while fading the background like that.
Thank you so much! It took a bit of a patience because these hummingbirds move so quickly...you point the camera at them, and before you can even focus they're gone! So I had a lot of blurred shots before I ended up with a nice one
